Scøtt reber is a self taught composer from Providence, RI who has been performing under the name WORK/DEATH since 2004. Ostensibly beginning from industrial noise and experimental electronics, his practice has expanded to trace paths through varied histories of 20th century avant garde music and art in an attempt to communicate something particularly personal. Densely layered and emotionally charged, his music orchestrates textured noise into larger structures as well as dissolve formalized music to its constituent vibrations. Filling rooms, sometimes with sound loud enough to be physical, he also uses arrays of multiple tiny speakers to diffuse quiet sounds and field recordings of specific spaces in new environments, which become activated and directly color the transmission/translation of the recorded memories.

Mx. Silkman (pronounced “Mix”) is the DJ alias and alter ego of Aerin Ercolea. She is a cofounder and resident DJ of the Cleveland queer- and radical-politics-oriented dance parties In Training and AUTONOMEN. Her DJ sets attempt to recreate the paranoia, hostility and alienation of modern life through curation that spans the post-Industrial electronic musical form and translates it to the dancefloor.

Lisa Bella Donna is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, modular synthesist, and clinician. She’s spent many years developing extensive techniques involving musique concreté, modular synthesis, analog & digital recording technique, percussion, micro-tonal, and film composition. Lisa has toured throughout the USA & Europe as a jazz drummer and keyboardist, and she’s been commissioned for many multichannel audio art installations. Known for her masterful handling of keyboards, guitars, and electronics for the excellent Columbus psych/prog band EYE, Lisa has also performed, recorded, and toured with a plethora of other artists including Ryan Jewell, Simone Weißendfels, Elliot Levin, Rent Romus, Juan Alderate, Andreas Scotty Bottcher, Ellen Burr, RjD2 and many others.

Nathan Melaragno, a multi-media artist currently working and living in Cleveland, OH. His focus spans from analog liquid light projections + experimental analog video synthesis, to film photography, sound environments and large scale painting. Nathan preserves psychedelic history through practicing, studying and teaching analog techniques in all fields of focus.

Facebook event: LOADED

LOADED is a music series incorporating experimental elements of performance art, avant rock, punk, and electronic music. Guest curated by R.A. Washington (Mourning A BLKstar, Guide to Kulchur Press), Haley Morris (Kiernan Paradise) and Lisa Miralia (Mysterious Black Box on WCSB Radio), this series brings together sound artists from our region and beyond to perform on MOCA’s loading dock. This is music that deluges the senses. You don’t wade in, you dive.

The LOADED Concert Series is sponsored by Medical Mutual of Ohio.

All MOCA Cleveland programs are supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Cleveland Foundation, the George Gund Foundation, and the continuing support of the Museum’s Board of Directors, patrons, and members.
