If you need the blues, don’t shy away from WCSB’s 1st annual Blues Bash! at Wilberts – 812 Huron Road – this Saturday, September 23rd.

The $10 suggested door donation that all goes directly to support WCSB delivers six hours of Cleveland blues… on a Saturday night… at Wilberts… with $3 domestic beers, discounted mixed drink prices and a full menu courtesy of Wilbert’s.

About the music:

The Blues Devils draw on traditional blues and country blues, and folk music from the 20s, 30s, post-war through the Chicago sound of the 60s. Their musical influences are Frank Stokes, Gus Cannon, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Bind Boy Fuller, Son House, Tommy Johnson, Memphis Minnie, Tampa Red, Muddy Waters, and Jimmy Reed to name more than a few, keeping to the style of the original recordings and emotional intents.

Blue Lunch is an 8-piece band with influences ranging from Chicago style blues, jazz, jump swing, r&b, doo wop & soul. They have been awarded the Free Times Best Band in Jazz, Swing categories and were the 2009 winner of Cleveland Blues Challenge, and selected to represent Cleveland in Memphis for the International Blues Challenge.

WCSB DJs will be spinning blues appropriate tunes before, between, and after, and there will be a fine selection of WCSB merchandise on hand to warm your torso, and further support our station.
